About 2,800 single young people participated in the survey organized by the Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. The survey shows that the ideal age for young people to get married is mainly concentrated in the two age groups of 25 to 30 and 30 to 35. In contrast to parents who generally want their children to get married between the ages of 25 and 30, a certain percentage of single young people think the ideal age for marriage is after 30, and the percentage of women is slightly higher than that of men.

According to the analysis, more young people are willing to accept late marriage, especially in women. The main reasons are that the modern life cycle is longer and it is easier to accept late marriage; the modern demand for financial basis of marriage is higher, forcing young people to postpone their own marriage age; the divorce rate is increasing and unmarried young people’s confidence in future marriage is decreasing, so they are more cautious in their choice.
