Since the release of his latest album’s title track “Can’t Learn”, JJ Lin has been grabbing prominent positions on major music stations. The album will be released on December 31, and he recently held a grand “Countdown to 100 Hours and China Mobile Global Wireless Exclusive Premiere” ceremony in Beijing. The company’s main goal is to provide a comprehensive range of products and services to the public.

Reporter: They say that the song “Can’t Learn” on your new album is a reflection of your mood?
James Lin: Yes, yes, yes, actually this album is a very transparent mood picture. The first thing I did was to give you a very honest song, and I didn’t want to be too fancy to package it. The song “I Can’t Learn” is a kind of lament about my feelings, and I finally found out that I still “can’t learn” about my feelings. Reporter: At a major international company like Warner, have you ever thought about working with overseas musicians?
James Lin: I think there are a lot of opportunities to work together across borders, even in Korea, and I’m looking forward to it.
Reporter: What about outside of the songs, what about concerts? The first time I saw you, I thought you’d like to see a lot of people in the audience.
James Lin: (The concert) just ended earlier this year, and we are not in the stage of formal concert planning yet, but we hope to start doing new concerts with the new company at the end of the year, at the earliest, the end of 2010 at the earliest, so we will start planning the next round after this album, and I am looking forward to it.
Reporter: Will you be acting in movies and TV shows? I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to do that.
James Lin: Actually, everyone is asking me this question, and the more people ask me, the more I’m looking forward to it. I kinda want to try acting, but I don’t want to do it just for the sake of it. Reporter: Do you have a director in mind that you would like to work with?
James Lam: Yes, like John Woo, he’s my idol, and his action movies are great for inner drama. The first thing I did was to work with director Ma Chucheng as the music director of his film. Reporter: Just talking about your understanding of “Can’t Learn”, it sounds like you’re the kind of person whose feelings get hurt easily?
James Lin: I should count …… (hesitation), I’ve always (been) a man who wants to be bad, the kind of man who doesn’t care about anything at all, but I don’t think I can be bad, instead every time I want to be bad (laughs), I find myself trapped, less able to protect myself, probably too honest. I am a person who speaks whatever comes to mind, and I don’t keep some things to myself.
Reporter: Is this about a particular relationship you’re thinking of?
I think it’s a good idea to have a good time.
James Lin: Almost every relationship is like that (laughs), so I found that the problem is not with other people, I found that in the end, it seems to be my own problem, maybe my own mind is not ready to give to the other person, or to accept a relationship and give. So I want to say, now I don’t go to talk about feelings, first rest, first work well, first focus on what you can see (on). I’m going to wait until I meet the right person and have a relationship that I think is more worthy of giving, and then the giving will be successful.
Reporter: What about the criteria for choosing a spouse?
James Lin: Before I had more criteria, I would think about it, I would aspire to say ‘I want to find a girl next door, I want to be cute, lively’ and so on, but now I don’t have too many ideas, because now I’m in a position where it’s hard for me to meet genuine friends with my job. The first time I saw a woman, I was able to see her true self and embrace it.
Reporter: If you had to set a standard, would you want to find a good wife and mother or a strong woman?
James Lin: At the moment I probably need someone who can help me take care of things, because I’m focusing on my work, and if there’s a girl who can take care of that, that would be perfect and fantastic, and I’m looking forward to that kind of relationship.

Reporter: It was said at the press conference that the company had given you a “no love order”, what form of rule was it?
James Lin: Actually, the company gave me a “no love order” as a reminder. The company wants me to focus on my work and tell the story of the album, not to let other news, like “caught on camera with a girl” be misunderstood and affect people’s expectations of my album, which is also out of good intentions. I also think that now I don’t need to set any “no love order”, and I don’t crave love too much, so sad.
Reporter: It seems like you’re very passive.
James Lin: It’s rather passive, but not in an exaggerated way.
I think it’s a good idea to have a new friend.
Reporter: That right person you haven’t met yet?
James Lin: I haven’t met him yet, and I probably won’t be able to say anything until I do.
Reporter: Will you set an age limit for yourself to fall in love?
James Lin: Give yourself two years, two years about 32 (years old), and hope to find someone to pay for each other within those two years.
Reporter: Is it because it’s hard to find in the entertainment industry?
James Lin: Yes, mainly because of the entertainment industry, because of my status and current environment, but also because of my social circle.

James Lin: I’ve been pretty housebound lately, and I’m really at home when I’m not.

Reporter: You cried when you shot the music video for your new song “Can’t Learn”, and there was news that you remembered your first love at the time.
James Lin: This song should still be written for myself, maybe the mood of the song, and I shouted when I shot it, or something, is actually accumulated in my heart for many years nostalgia for my first girlfriend, some facts that can not be changed. The company’s main goal is to provide the best possible service to its customers.
Reporter: When did you have your first love?
James Lin: The first time I had a serious girlfriend was when I was 18 years old, in high school. It was very youthful, nothing complicated, no complicated environment, very simple I just like music, write songs, have a girlfriend to take care of me, and just live life happily. But the same we thought too much, I did not expect that later I wanted to go to Taiwan to develop ah, she also has her dream. So finally because of the dream, because of the real side, we met the crossroads, when we made the decision to go after our dreams and let go of our feelings, and then over time we had a life of our own, and she is now married.

James Lin: Last year, last year.
Reporter: Are you still in touch now?
