How steel is made

One of the winter break assignments left for students before the break is to read How Steel is Made. The book is a masterpiece guide for the next semester so that students can use the break to focus on reading and preparing for the new semester’s classes. Since I gave the students homework, of course I had to repeat it to deepen my understanding. These days I’ve been reading the book. Because of the red ideas of this book and the main character, Paul. The name of Kotchakin’s model book and the classic sayings in the book were familiar to me from a very young age.

Later, he read this masterpiece with respect and then watched the Russian-Chinese co-produced TV series of the same name to become more familiar with the content of the novel. After reading many forgotten details, much of the former reverence and enthusiasm seemed to be eroded by youth. There was only a calm appreciation and savoring. The mindset of reading the same book at different times can be different.

Characters.  Pavel, the novel’s protagonist. Chalkin’s bravery, perseverance, love and hatred formed the period of history through which he lived. This image is representative and typical of many revolutionaries of the time. The value of this novel lies in the fact that the author Ostrovsky incorporated many of his personal experiences into his work, making Pavel.

The image of Charchagin is more realistic, fleshed out and vivid. The comparison between positive and negative characters in this novel is very clear and shows that the author’s love and hatred are strong. The author’s trust and praise for the strong and brave revolutionaries and his hatred for the cunning and murderous enemies, as well as his disgust for the vulgar and despicable small citizens.  Conspiracy.  The most touching is the treatment received at the communal warrior sanatorium after the road and Pavel’s serious illness. The road construction partly passed the test of environmental difficulties and the threat of bad white bandits and diseases.

It exemplifies the noble, strong faith and resilient revolutionary will of Pavel’s young communists. It was their self-sacrificing spirit that won the proper functioning and survival of the entire city. The focus of the treatment of serious illness is Pavel’s iron will and creative passion. The reader really feels the resilience and positive attitude of the invincible revolutionary warriors.

The language of this novel is vivid, lively, deep, vital and strongly attractive, experiencing the rich and profound life experience of the author Ostrovsky. The unique emotional world of love and hate, deep literary background and creative thought exercise.

For example, when bandits gathered in a small town, the author wrote: hundreds of shrewd businessmen drilled like fleas. They had nothing in their eyes. It was like a pile of maggots gathering in the city’s great feces. A few trains discharged from their bellies a crowd of people with pockets on their backs. These people flocked to the bazaar.
