Happiness tips: 6 strategies to make you and your mother-in-law as close as mother and daughter

Mother-in-law relationships can sometimes be a real headache, but if you follow these six tips, you may become good friends with your mother-in-law.

Secret #1: Know what kind of person your mother-in-law is. This is definitely a very important point! Your mother-in-law is as important to that woman’s life as the number of the day a woman was born.

Not only are you the “invader” into your mother-in-law’s family, but you are the one who replaces your mother-in-law in taking care of your husband for the rest of his life. How to love your mother-in-law well may be as hard as a pill to swallow.

But you are her daughter-in-law, and you don’t want to ruin your relationship with your husband by having a bad relationship with your mother-in-law. Then you should do a good job of turning yourself inside your mother-in-law’s mind.

Secret #2: Communicate. Be sure to speak your mind to your mother-in-law. The best way to ease the tension between you is to get to the root of the problem.

Because your mother-in-law will be threatened from you, she can easily fall into an extreme and then will interfere with you and give you a hard time at any time. Please open up your mind and you will avoid a lot of arguments, unnecessary deadlocks and stress.

Secret #3: Learn to be complimentary and praise your mother-in-law often. It sounds a bit like a pat on the back, but it can be very helpful in improving your poor mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relationship!

Please make sure you remember that you have replaced your mother-in-law as the most important person to your husband. This is a wake-up call for you because your mother-in-law is not getting any younger and she doesn’t have to be the same as she used to be. You must maintain your mother-in-law’s dignity and praise her sincerely.

Secret #4: Please be patient! We live in a society that is fast-paced and full of hard-core hard-liners. Shift your thinking a little when it comes to your mother-in-law. Let her do things her way and be patient with her.

After all, she’s come a long way and has more experience than you, and it doesn’t have to be wrong. Remember if something like you think it’s time to roast the turkey happens and

you find out that your mother-in-law hasn’t gotten the turkey out yet or you find out that your son didn’t take a nap because he was with your mother-in-law or something like that, please don’t just immediately assume that that’s all there is to your mother-in-law’s world. You have to be patient.

Secret #5: Please don’t be too harsh. Many mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relationships are completely destroyed because the mother-in-law is usually snarky or complains about the lifestyle or the way things are done.

Remember this old proverb, “People always like to base their happiness on the pain of others.” When you are angry, say this to yourself repeatedly, walk around the house a few times, consider whether this has value in saving the relationship, and get back in a good mood the next time you see your mother-in-law.

Tip #6: Apologize. If things change, put away your pride and say you’re sorry. You’ll be better off. Your husband will feel better, too. And most importantly, your mother-in-law will feel better too.
