The post-80s were once labeled as the “beaten generation” and the “fallen generation” was controversial in society. Now, the first batch of post-80s have entered the threshold of 30 years old, and some of them have become the backbone of society. The Chinese have always believed that people at the age of 30 should be able to rely on their own skills, take responsibility independently, and determine their own life goals and development direction.
In the year of establishment, have the first post-80s stood up? What are their living conditions? The survey was conducted. Compared to the post-70s, the post-80s are not stable enough when they enter their 30s, are under huge pressure of life such as mortgage, and 30% are single. Growing up in a changing society, they bear more pressure from both reality and psychology.
In 2011, the oldest group of the post-80s has reached the threshold of 30 years old. The results of a survey conducted in Henan on “the survival of the post-70s and post-80s at the age of 30” show that the earliest post-80s group to enter the “30” threshold, 30% of them are still single, 40% have no house, 70% have no car, 60% are afraid of family responsibilities, and their survival is not ideal.
The post-1980s are still single, 40% are homeless, 70% are carless, 60% are afraid of family responsibilities, and their survival is not ideal.
Compared to the post-80s, the post-70s seem to have a more stable life, with a family, children and a stable job.
Feelings
Confusion is the biggest feeling of the post-80s, while the post-70s choose to let nature take its course
In the era of high housing prices, coupled with the fact that only children face a small couple supporting four elderly people and raising one child, confusion and pressure have become common feelings of many post-80s.
The newest addition to the list is the newest addition to the list. The survey shows that 67.72% of the post-80s feel lost and piled with pressure on their bodies, and 10% of them rate themselves as rebellious and edgy. When it comes to the future, Ma Nan, who works in the computer industry, will feel confused and feel a lot of pressure on her body.
As the first generation to enter the city, buying a house to support his family often leaves him breathless. Although impervious to the future, Ma Nan is still very serious about planning his future life, such as trying to have a baby in the last two years, and if possible, buy a car. The survey shows that nearly 41.4% of the post-80s said that they are following the plan for their future life. But only 33.3% of the post-70s are carrying out their lives according to plan. more of the post-80s than the post-70s are choosing to live their future as it comes, while the post-80s are building their future lives more carefully in the face of harsh reality.
45% of the first post-80s have no kids, 74% of the post-70s have kids
In the 1970s and 1980s, people in their 30s had kids all over the place. Now, just after 30 years old, many of the post-80s have only just gotten married. Survey data show that only 73.8% of the earliest group of post-80s who have reached the threshold of 30 are married, while nearly 90% of the post-70s are married at age 30.
Zhang Na, a 30-year-old citizen, said that stepping into a family means taking on pressure, and she wants to get away for two more years before getting married. Chen Ling, a marriage and family counselor at Zhengzhou Vitality Marriage Counseling, said the love of freedom, fashion, and the pursuit of individual liberation have become reasons for many post-80s to get married later.
With the postponement of the marriage age, the time to have children is also being postponed backward. Among the first post-80s, 45.3% do not have children yet, while 74.1% of the post-70s have children by the time they are 30 years old. Many of the post-80s believe that they have just gotten married and are carrying a lot of pressure such as a mortgage, so they don’t want to become “child slaves” so soon.
Consumption
More post-70s have a house, more post-80s have a car
Having a car and a house is a symbol of quality of life. However, from the survey, at the age of 30, there are more people with houses after 70 and more people with cars after 80. In the eyes of 40-year-old Zhang Kai, the meaning of the word “home” is that there are several people living under the house, and only when there is a house is there a home. So people have to buy a house even if they borrow money. But the 80-year-old Chen Jun believes that the pressure to buy a house is too great, so it is better to buy a car first to improve the quality of life.
The survey shows that 70% of the post-70s have a house, and only 60% of the post-80s have a house. But about 20% of the post-70s have a car, and 25% of the post-80s have a car. Chen Jun is 30 years old this year and works in an advertising company with a monthly salary of 2,500. In her eyes, “you can’t buy half a square meter without eating or drinking”, so you might as well not buy it.
Survey shows that 78% of the post-80s can buy less than 1 square meter of house with their January salary, and 22% can buy more than 1 square meter of house with their salary. Ten years ago, when the post-70s were 30 years old, 69% of them could buy less than 1 square meter of house with their monthly salary, and 31% of them could buy 1 square meter or more with their salary.
In comparison, house prices put slightly less pressure on the post-70s. Half of the post-80s have jumped jobs at least twice, while the post-70s have basically stable jobs. The survey shows that nearly half of the post-80s have changed jobs at least twice before they turned 30, and 36% of the post-80s currently have no stable jobs.
