“Chastity goddess” about chastity: questioning me is questioning this society

The 38-year-old master Tu Shanyou became famous for founding the “Yapin Chastity Network,” the self-proclaimed “Goddess of Chastity,” and publishing her hymen identification results on the website. Yesterday, she was invited to Guangzhou to be a guest on a TV show and was interviewed by a reporter before the show began. She said, “When people question me, they are questioning the society”.
Look at what Tu Shanyou is looking for in a significant other
During the program, Tu Shanyou mentioned her view on choosing a spouse: similar to her age, over 1.72 meters tall, with a bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably a master’s degree, not a house or a car, just true love. But she does not require that the other party must be a virgin: “The probability of both meeting my above conditions and having to be a virgin is too low.”
But she says she just expects true love and doesn’t desire it. “Fate can be found.” At the same time, she stressed that chastity before marriage does not equate with marital happiness, and that chastity is more a reflection of protecting and loving oneself.
●Talking about opinions
The hymen has nothing to do with chastity
Tu Shiyou defines chastity as follows: not having sex before marriage and not cheating after marriage has nothing to do with the presence or absence of a hymen. “I would not judge a girl’s chastity simply by the presence or absence of a hymen, because some women are born without a hymen, or have their hymens damaged and shed for some other reason later in life.” In addition she stressed that guys have the same responsibility to remain virgins until marriage.
Why did she post her “still intact” virginity test on her website if virginity has nothing to do with hymens? The company said it was a responsible approach for itself, its audience and society. “I advocate chastity, first of all, to prove that I have done a good job in this area. In addition, I just want to show people from my own personal experience that chastity is something that everyone can do.”
●Talking about herself
Relaxing sexual urges through control
Shiyu Tu is also controversial because she is 38 years old, single and has never been in a relationship.
She said she was also considered beautiful when she was younger and was pursued by guys, but regretted missing out because she was too focused on her studies, but she has no regrets. She admits she is also a flesh-and-blood normal woman who likes stalwart men and has sexual urges, but will control the repercussions through other means, such as going to public events and shifting her attention to writing. “My sexuality was heavily influenced by my mother, who was a great lady and conveyed to me from a young age that there was an orthodox, dignified value of ancient women and that having premarital sex was a breach of custom.”
●Talking about fame
Social values are distorted
“I think the concept of chastity that I advocate is normal, healthy and fashionable.” Tu Shiyou felt he was just doing the right and meaningful thing, yet he was met with numerous criticisms. “Many people called me sick, said I was ugly and thought I couldn’t get married, I was under all this pressure every day and often couldn’t sleep at night.” She analyzed the reason for her fame because the mainstream values of this society have been distorted – “Indulgence is promoted, while self-control is devalued, but an open society does not mean that the concept of representation should be open.”
She said she never wanted to make money off a chastity website, let alone deliberately hype it, and is currently taking turns being interviewed by media across the country because it allows her idea of chastity to be widely disseminated as quickly as possible. She reveals that her financial income comes from freelance writing fees as well as family succor, and she has not been able to pay off the 1,000 yuan she spent on building the website. “Although I am poor, there is nothing wrong with eating with my own hands and believing that self-improvement is the way to go. When people question me, they are questioning the society.”

Chastity, should we keep it?
If two young people are in love and are fully capable of taking responsibility for their actions and not endangering others, why can’t they have sex before marriage?
–Li Chuhua, professor of physiology at South China Normal University
Sex before marriage is not good for girls; they will have abortions and become single mothers. Two girls, if they are on equal terms, but one is a virgin and one is not, which one do you think guys will choose?
–Chen Zhonglian, a contributing professor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
The reason why the goddess of chastity has caused such an uproar is that the culture of chastity she advocates is a culture that is gradually disappearing from our society today, a resource that is currently scarce. We should allow such a culture to exist.
-Appendage, professor of Chinese at Guangdong Technical Teachers’ College
A girl at the age of 38 is still talking about her chastity, taking the identification out and attracting the public’s attention with her privacy, which is pitiful; the ancient feudalism has given a huge mental shackle to women’s chastity, and now it is easy to liberate them. The first time I saw this was when I was 38 years old and not 18 years old.
