Stress in life doesn’t just stem from the big decisions and challenges you face in your career, important relationships, money, and health; to a large extent, stress is about the things you do every day of the week. When those little habits you may forget or ignore add up, they can have a huge impact on you.

Here are 10 small habits that will have a positive impact on our lives.

One, write it down.

Think about more meaningful things than just remembering what is going to be done. The brain is usually like a leaky bucket, so write down your good ideas, insights, thoughts, and add what you need to do to your to-do list before you forget.

Two, do one thing at a time.

If you do one thing at a time, then you will get better results, feel better, and be less stressed. Thus, instead of doing more than one thing at a time, you are better off doing the most important things each day before doing the other less important things.

Three, ask boldly instead of second-guessing.

People’s hearts are unpredictable, so ask and communicate in a way that resolves doubts, which will help you minimize unnecessary arguments, misunderstandings, and denials.

Fourth, don’t make a big deal out of it.

When you start thinking deeply about something, or when you decide in your head that you want to do something big, you should ask yourself, “Am I making a big deal out of it? If you’ve been defeated in some place by your thinking, ask yourself: Is there anyone in the world worse off than I am right now?”

Five: Get your “clothes” together before you go to bed.

This way you won’t be stressed in the morning and you’ll be less likely to forget things.

Six, set boundaries for what you do every day of the week.

I had to set boundaries to better balance my work and my life. In doing so, I find myself doing things more productively. Because not everything has to result in something, my life has become very bearable. Here are three ways to help you set some boundaries for what you do every day of the week:

1. Set a time for your work to start and a time for it to end. I don’t work between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next morning.

2. Take a few more breaks a day. Take lots of breaks during the day so you can keep your mind sharp and have energy at night and on weekends. I usually work 45 minutes per hour and take 15 minutes off. During my breaks, I get off the computer and do something else. Like going outside for a walk, getting some fresh air, eating something, or watching half an episode of The Simpsons. Then every 3 hours, I take a longer break to have lunch, a snack, or something else.

3. Not working on weekends. I try to take time on the weekends to get away from my daily habits and things. I usually have a day away from media and the Internet. I hardly check my email on Saturday days. Instead, I spend time with my girlfriends, friends, family, or read a book, watch a movie, or do some other fun activity.

Seven, put everything away.

If everything is placed in a specific place, your home will stay orderly and clutter-free every day. When it’s time to leave the house, you can easily find your keys, wallet, and phone.

Eight, 10 minutes early.

This very simple habit transforms those car rides into time for me to relax and rest, rather than into segments of time and space where I feel stressed or have other negative emotions.

Nine, freeing up very simple work space.

By freeing up a very clean workspace, you can greatly reduce mental distractions or stress due to crowding. Your attention can be more easily focused on what matters most in a natural way, so think about how you can have such a work environment.

I suggest just a small desk, a laptop, a stack of paper, a pen, and something on the wall that gives you motivation and positive energy, such as a list of important things, dreams, quotes, or meaningful pictures.

Ten, breathe.

When stressed, or stuck in a rut, lost in the past or lost in the future, breathe through your belly for 2 minutes, paying attention to the flow of air in and out. This calms your body and brings your thoughts back to the present again.
